Super Cute place. Very Clean - however the kitchen utensils are pretty minimal. We donated a few items to the kitchen in an effort to make a few simple meals. You might want to be sure to bring shampoo. Otherwise it is clean and tidy - could stand to have a few more amenities for the price.
I absolutely love coming here! Everything is so beautiful! And I couldn’t think of a better description than “cozy dinner “! From the seating, to the rooms, to the music… Everything is very cozy and comforting! Also, the food is exquisite. I’ve done these dinners a few times with my husband and always love them and choose to come back here for special occasions. For Mother’s Day (2 yrs in a row) my family and I went there for dinner. One of my daughters may be the pickiest eater known to man, and she devoured her meal! As a brooding teenager, I love watching her get excited over picking out flowers for our garden. Our area is so lucky to have such a place!
Our stay at Modern Homestead in Reedsville WV was comfortable as always. Beds are comfortable, amenities are more than enough. We are a repeat guest due to having family roots. It’s a cozy stay we are always sad to leave but we’ll be back!
I am always satisfied with my visits to Modern Homestead! As far as lodging goes, I have not stayed in the rentals, but my out-of-state relatives are returners!! My questions about plants, gardening and ‘green thumbing’ are always treated with knowledge and care!! My success is do largely to the quality products and services they provide. And of course, I can’t forget the cafe! I am most satisfied by the wonderful drinks and treats. Our extended community so needed their devotion to all things local—including Rustic Church concerts and weekend dinners.
We love Trellis, he is always so kind and informative, and we are looking forward to seeing him next for more beautiful plants and trees!
Fantastic spot! I've visited the city for work several times and always stay here! Rooms are clean and cozy, and you can't beat having a coffee shop directly on the premises. Staff is also great...responsive, friendly...feels like the southern hospitality I'm used to. I appreciate having a kitchen area with a table and chairs to make sitting down to eat feel a little more like home. There's also a garden center on the premises which is a special treat. A few stores are in walking distance, along with a nature trail not too far away. This place is a hidden gem.
The pastries at the Cafe are always fresh and excellent. The greenhouse and garden center is full of beautiful plants. The location at the four-way stop in Reedsville, WV is perfect. The drive to Reedsville is always beautiful, too.
The team at Modern Homestead are the best. Just all around amazing. We frequently go for the cozy Saturday dinners and the food is always outstanding. For a quiet weekend trip or a staycation it is perfect. You won't regret it
